Until the early 1960s, Bell Cottage was an inn called “The Six Bells”, which explains the theme of this advent calendar window “No Room at the Inn”.

The Annual Christingle Service took place in the Village Church on Sunday 6th December. I am indebted to Andrew Waite for the above photograph and those on the next page.
A loyal band of villagers turned out on a very wet night and were rewarded with a view of the Northern Lights.

A devoted band of “flower arrangers” worked in the Church Hall to create Christmas wreaths of holly, ivy, other greenery and the occasional ribbon. These have now been attached to telephone and electricity poles all around the village.
