On a glorious late summer afternoon, villagers and visitors alike were privileged to witness a scintillating performance of traditional songs and dances by the Prolisok Ukranian Dance Ensemble. Those present were captivated by both the energy and the grace of the performers, demonstrating universal support for the dancers and their country in its hour of need.
In 2018 the ensemble became the official London Ukrainian Dance Group on behalf of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, performing contrasting dances celebrating the diversity and soul of Ukrainian culture in a wide variety of venues.

…..and the smartness of the tunics.

A beautifully rendered traditional song brought tears to the eyes of many spectators.
During a break in the Prolisok performance Brackley Morris Men brought their own energy, colour and traditional dances to the stage.
Numbers of spectators were motivated to join in, skipping to the time honoured rhythms…..
…..which also drew the Ukrainians into the dance!
A more cheerful song at the start of the second half.
No performance of this kind would be complete without the truly energetic Cossack style dancing…
……especially this one!
Richard Fonge thanks the Ensemble at the end of their performance….
……and the performances end with solidarity between the dancers
No Sulgrave event would be complete without a dog show!
Winner!
Fantastic photos of a wonderful event! Many thanks to Richard Fonge, chairman of Sulgrave Parish Council and his team for organising a fabulous fund raiser for the Ukranian cause – sorry we couldn’t be there as we were away celebrating a family 60th wedding anniversary in Anglesey but these photos of all the dancers and the dog show sum it up! Well done everybody!
