Owing to a prior (party!) engagement, the photographer arrived only just in time for the unveiling!
Bentley’s Farm Bungalow was first occupied by Joan Gascoigne, former Land Girl from Northampton and wife of farmer Dennis Gascoigne. Whilst Dennis was still farming they lived in Bentley’s Farm House where they raised a large and extremely talented family. Joan was, as they say, a “live wire”! By clicking on the link below, those who knew her will have their memories revived and it may also be of interest to those who did not have that pleasure:

Lovely to read about Joan and her family who were my neighbours when I lived at St Hilary, Helmdon Road, from Dec 1975 to August 1981
Thank you Colin for this heartfelt memory of Joan Gascoigne – with the links to those precious photos.
Thanks, Rachel. Our own memories of Joan are also precious, especially to Molly who still misses her greatly.
