Manor Road in 1962. Photograph taken from the first floor of The Old Bakehouse. Apart from the obvious absence of cars, the most noticeable difference between then and now is in the skyline, then dominated by the elm trees which perished in the Dutch Elm epidemic of the early 1970s. The other difference is that what had always been known as Great Street had yet to be gentrified into Manor Road, just as Dark Lane has become Park Lane!
A hit with all who love dogs I’m sure, thanks Claire a great new window
