A May Wedding in Sulgrave

Another gloriously sunny day for a May wedding in the Church of St James the Less. Camilla Mason, granddaughter of Kenneth and Janet Tattersall,  married George Spence and the ceremony was followed by a reception at the nearby family home, Corner House, Sulgrave.

The earliest guests had time to admire the beautiful flowers in the church:

Finishing touches to the table settings and decorations:

In the church, Emily Campbell and accompanist rehearse the songs which will end the marriage service:

In the belfry, Hywel anticipates the big moment…….

…..and the team ready themselves:

Village wellwishers gather for the second wedding in a couple of weeks:

The guests begin to arrive:

The “boys” are exuberant…….

…..whilst the girls remain cool:

The bride’s grandparents arrive, firstly Kenneth assisted by grandson William…..

…..and then Janet:

Next to arrive, Sue Mason, mother of the bride:

The bridesmaids:

Last minute adjustments:

Everyone waits patiently:

….for the big moment. The bride walks to the church with her eldest brother, Rupert:

The church doors remained open during the service and those outside were entranced to hear Emily Campbell’ s beautiful singing of “Ave Maria” and “Summertime”, the only other sounds being the sighing of the the wind in the trees and the distant cries of sheep and lambs….

Great anticipation as Camilla and George emerge from the church:

A great day for the young ladies……

…..perhaps less so for the young men…..

Congratulations from grandfather….

….and so to the reception:
