In the early 50s, a group of village boys surreptitiously climbed to the top of the church tower. As a thirteen year old, I was one of them, with my folding Brownie camera. I took this picture, which shows “Greenfields” and the village shop, then the home of Sulgrave Billiard Club. In between is Wootton Brothers builder’s yard and the then much smaller telephone exchange. It’s a poor quality photo with lots of dust specks – I probably dropped it on the floor when processing it in my darkened bedroom!
