Final Completion of Castle Green drystone wall

L to R. Paul King, of F. King & Son, Clare Pollak, Project Co-ordinator, Janet Norman and Cecil Rhodes, of The Rhodes Partnership

Chairman Martin Sirot-Smith reports that:

It is with great satisfaction that the Castle Green Management Committee were able on 28th September to accept completion of the restoration of the Wall by F. King & Son.

This local firm from Wappenham came to our rescue in September 2010 when we dismissed the previous contractors, Underwood and Weston, for poor workmanship and slipshod management.  They were able to retrieve the situation and, despite one of the coldest winters on record, have transformed what was a problematic state of affairs to very satisfactory conclusion.

The Restoration and Enhancement Project is now complete and, after 5 long and arduous years, the village now has a lovely amenity, superbly situated in a unique historical setting.
