How the five turbines would have appeared from the Barrow Hill footpath

In a judgment handed down on 22nd June 2016, three Appeal Court Judges dismissed Broadview Energy Limited’s claim that the Secretary of State had acted unfairly when determining their appeal against the refusal of planning permission for five 125 metre high wind turbines in area of countryside between Helmdon, Stuchbury and Greatworth. Their lordships found nothing in the claim which would merit the quashing of the Secretary of State’s decision to dismiss the appeal. The company now have until July 22nd to decide whether to seek leave to take this claim to the supreme court. See here for the Appeal Court Judgment document.

  1. Hopefully that is the end of this long running threat to our area. We should be truly thankful to all those who have given their time and money to fight this proposal . Colin Wooton in particular for his interpretation of the many submissions submitted, and his much valued input, which was greatly appreciated by Richard Honey Q.C. The excellent Barrister employed by the action group. It just goes to show the power of communities working together under strong leadership.

On behalf of our world wide families of Stutchbury’s and other related family’s who have over the years visited this wonderful home land of ours and have been welcome by your your mother and father also the late Mrs Fonge so many times over these years.A Well deserved win for all,I was hoping the Washingham family had not come back with shares in the power company.
I hope for the day that there maybe a dig on the STOTES-Berri Village Sites which may help to protect this wonderful area from others who wish to spoil rather than protect.
Once again well done to all concerned ,please pass on this message thanks.
Kind Regards : Robin Ephraim Stutchbury.
PS:Sorry I had only just found this information, and dearly hope there has been no appeal since ?
