YOUR SHOP NEEDS YOU!

After 38 weeks of 2012 the shop’s trading performance is up 2.1% on the same period in 2011 and for the first 2 weeks of September, up 14% & 8%  respectively. However, several young helpers have now taken up their places at university which has left us with gaps in our volunteer roster. Could any one that can spare an hour or two each week, especially at the week ends, let David know in the Shop please? This is a real case of ‘YOUR VILLAGE SHOP NEEDS YOU!’

Does the rain ever stop!! Despite its best efforts the weather has not ‘rained on our Shop’s parade’ with another strong trading performance & new ranges arriving. But before that, we need to appeal for further help from you all. Several of our younger volunteers, brainy individuals that they all are, have now taken up their places at university which has left us with gaps in our volunteer roster. Could any one that can spare an hour or two each week, especially at the week ends, let David know in the Shop please? This is a real case of ‘YOUR VILLAGE SHOP NEEDS YOU!’

Shop performance to year date

After 38 weeks of 2012 our trading performance is up 2.1% on the same period in 2011 which is fantastic. Even better news is that now that most of us have returned from our ‘summer’ holidays, I can announce that for the first 2 weeks of September, we are 14% & 8% up respectively. I am running out of adjectives in describing our performance & it’s all down to you so a HUGE thank you to one & all!

New Ranges

There are a host of new products & fresh produce available now. The popular Romanesco has arrived & is selling well. Plums & other Autumn fruits are on the counter for you to enjoy. We also have a brand new addition to announce (although many of you have already bought them), fresh cut flowers; the colours look fantastic & we hope that you enjoy them. All of the above have been sourced locally as per our buying strategy.

Filming

Some of you may have seen a film crew outside the Shop. Mugshot Films are an independent film production company. Amy Lloyd & Prudence Beecroft, two local girls that many of you will know asked if they could use the Shop as part of the film that they are shooting called ‘Adored’ which they then plan to use in establishing themselves within the industry & plan on showing the finished article at festivals around the UK. We wish them & their colleagues well for their future careers; who knows, we may just have assisted the next generation of UK script writers & film producers quest for fame & fortune!

As a result of our participation, we have got some fantastic photographs of the Shop, both inside & out, which will be used in our future marketing initiatives.

Remember, you heard it first in the Sulgrave News Letter …
